How to measure your Springer Spaniel
- 1Measure your dog's shoulder height from the floor — the opening needs to be at least that tall.
- 2Measure the widest point, usually the chest or hips, and add 50 mm.
- 3Watch how your dog goes through a normal doorway: if they duck, the opening needs to be taller.
- 4Measure the chest clearance from the floor so the step-over is easy, not a jump.
Where we fit it: The step-over usually sits around 150–200 mm. We check the panel has enough depth above the opening for the flap frame before we cut.
