Why We Use Toughened Low-E Glass
Existing toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled — it would shatter instantly. That's why every glass door cat flap installation requires a brand-new panel, manufactured with the hole already cut before the glass is toughened.
We use energy-rated Low-E (Low Emissivity) glass as standard on all installations. The invisible metallic coating reflects radiant heat back into your home, reducing heat loss through the glass by up to 50% compared to uncoated panels. This means your new panel often performsbetter than the glass it replaces.

Flexible Hole Positioning
The cat flap hole can be positioned anywhere along the bottom edge of the glass panel — centrally, offset left, offset right, or wherever works best for your setup. We just need 50mm clearance from each edge.
This flexibility means you can position the flap to avoid furniture, work around the opening direction of the door, or give your cat the most convenient route to the garden.
- Centre, left or right positioning available
- 50mm minimum clearance from all glass edges
- We advise on the best position for your door
- Height adjustable to suit your cat's size
Door Re-Alignment Included
Over time, doors can drop, shift, or become misaligned — causing sticking, draughts, or difficulty locking. When we remove your old glass panel and fit the new one, we take the opportunity to re-align your door so it sits perfectly in the frame. This is included as part of every glass installation at no extra charge.
