Our experience fitting it
Manual flaps still make up a decent share of our fittings — rural properties, flats, and rented homes where the tenant wants something simple and cheap.
Pros
- Very inexpensive and widely available
- No batteries or electronics to fail
- 4-way lock: open, in only, out only, fully locked
- Dual magnets and draught excluder keep it from flapping in wind
Cons
- Any cat can push it open — no exclusion of strays
- Thin flap can rattle in exposed doorways
- No curfew or tracking features

Fitting notes from our installers
Because it's a small, shallow flap it suits thin wooden doors and window panels well. In glass we still need a new toughened panel with the aperture pre-cut.
We fit this model into uPVC doors, composite doors and glass doors across the North West and Yorkshire.
