Our experience fitting it
We fit the Pet Door for Maine Coons, Ragdolls, Bengals and small breeds like Yorkshire Terriers and Miniature Dachshunds. The most common mistake we're called out to fix is a standard cat flap fitted for a large cat that simply won't use it.
Pros
- Much larger opening — suits big cats and small dogs
- Built-in curfew timer to lock the flap overnight
- Same reliable microchip reading as the standard SureFlap
- C-cell batteries give good runtime for a large flap
Cons
- Needs a bigger aperture — not every door panel has the clearance
- More expensive than a standard microchip flap
- Heavier flap can be stiff for timid cats at first

Fitting notes from our installers
The larger aperture needs a minimum flat panel area — always check clearance before buying. In glass doors the panel is replaced with a new toughened unit sized for the larger hole.
We fit this model into uPVC doors, composite doors and glass doors across the North West and Yorkshire.
