Can you fit a cat flap in a period cottage door in Shropshire?

Most period cottages here have been re-fitted with composite, UPvc or quality hardwood doors in the last 20–30 years — all of which we fit cleanly. For original timber doors with leaded glass we'd usually recommend the side or rear utility door to preserve the front-elevation look.

About Bomere Heath, Shrewsbury

Doors & Properties in Bomere Heath

The housing in Bomere Heath is predominantly stone-built cottages with characterful timber doors and modern double glazing, which typically feature Liniar and Veka UPvc doors with full-pane glazing. Where space allows, we recommend the rear door for safety and convenience.

Bomere Heath is a quiet village in the SY4 postcode north of Shrewsbury, sitting on the rolling Shropshire plain near Mytton and the lanes toward Baschurch. The housing along Pim Hill, Yeaton Lane and the modern estates near Bomere Heath Primary is a mix of 1930s and 1970s detached family homes, characterful red-brick cottages near the village hall, and newer paddock bungalows — predominantly UPvc rear doors with composite fronts. Cats here patrol the surrounding farmland, and microchip flaps with night-curfew are the standard fit.

About Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury is the historic county town of Shropshire, set in a near-perfect loop of the River Severn and famous for its medieval black-and-white timbered streets, the Norman Shrewsbury Castle, and as the birthplace of Charles Darwin. The town is the gateway to the Shropshire Hills AONB, with the Long Mynd, the Stiperstones and Wenlock Edge all on its doorstep.

Cat Flap Fitting in the Shrewsbury Area

Shrewsbury and the wider Shropshire countryside feature an unusually varied housing mix — medieval timbered townhouses in the loop, Georgian and Victorian terraces along the suburbs, and modern detached estates in the surrounding villages. Our cat flap fitters work right across the county, from the SY1 town-centre conservation streets to the rural cottages of the Shropshire Hills.
