Can you fit a cat flap in a period cottage door in Shropshire?

Most period cottages here have been re-fitted with composite, UPvc or quality hardwood doors in the last 20–30 years — all of which we fit cleanly. For original timber doors with leaded glass we'd usually recommend the side or rear utility door to preserve the front-elevation look.

About Church Stretton, Shrewsbury

Doors & Properties in Church Stretton

The housing in Church Stretton is predominantly 1980s and 90s estate homes with conservatories and patio sliding doors, which typically feature modern flush composite doors and UPvc bifold rears. Each install comes with simple printed setup notes for the new owner.

Church Stretton is a small market town in the SY6 postcode tucked beneath the Long Mynd and Caer Caradoc, often called 'Little Switzerland' for its hill setting. The properties along Burway Road, Sandford Avenue and the lanes climbing toward All Stretton and Carding Mill Valley are a striking mix of Victorian villas, Edwardian detached homes and characterful stone cottages — many with original timber or composite front doors and replacement UPvc rears. Cats here roam onto the open hill commons, and well-sealed weather-tight microchip flaps are essential for the exposed location.

About Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury is the historic county town of Shropshire, set in a near-perfect loop of the River Severn and famous for its medieval black-and-white timbered streets, the Norman Shrewsbury Castle, and as the birthplace of Charles Darwin.
